Cheating gone terribly wrong

A dutch couple from the posh town of Wassenaar was in the hospital of The Hague recently for the birth of their baby. The shock was enormous when all of a sudden a very dark baby popped out even though the couple is white . The woman could then only admit that she cheated on her husband once with a negroid man. Both families in shock and the husband has already packed his suitcase and left his wife. Wow I wish I would have been at that delivery to see the faces of the couple!!

Texas gay bar raided by police

On the 40th anniversary of Stonewall Saturday night, police in Forth Worth began arresting 7 people in the Rainbow Lounge gay bar. One of them is in the hospital now suffering from a brain injury during the arrest, after being knocked unconscious by the cops. They were arresting people for public intoxication in a bar??? Since when is being drunk in a bar a big deal?? According to the cops, patrons made sexual advances to them and groped them. The oldest excuse in the book and all the other people there deny this and say the police started acting rough from the start. This really seems fishy and needs to be examined.

Fake deaths on Twitter

This time Britney Spears’ twitter announced that she had passed away and more news was to come. This happened to the twitter accounts of P. Diddy and Ellen Degeneres as well. I think this is just rude and goes way over the line.

Back in January it was still funny when someone hacked into Britney’s twitter to say her lady parts were 4 feet wide with razor sharp teeth.

Battle surrounding Michael Jackson's kids

First there was an interview with the former nanny and assistant of Jackson, Grace Rwararamba, who told the press Michael Jackson already used heavy painkillers and medication for years. At times she forbid Michael to see his kids because his condition was too troubling for them to see. She tried an intervention with Michael's mom and sister Janet years ago. And now there is the custody battle around the kids, Paris, Prince Michael and Blanket. On one hand there is the biological mother of the first 2 kids, Debby Rowe. She already told the press she would not file for custody, but that might change. She obviously does a lot for money. Then there is the mother of Blanket and maybe some of their biological fathers, sensing some money in all this. Michael himself wanted his mother Katherine to raise the kids. While normally a grandmother might be a good idea, here things are a little different. First of all Katherine is already really old(79) and second of all a few of her children seem very troubled and screwed up, to say the least. While it only was their father that allegedly abused them, I think most mothers would have done something about that as well. So maybe not the greatest person to raise kids.

Wimbledon day 7

Wimbledon day 7

29062009

DSCN3213Yesterday was a rest day at the traditional grounds of Wimbledon, but today all the 4th round matches in the ladies singles are being played. While I type this, the roof is closed for the first time this year in the grass tournament. The funny thing is that on the other courts where the rain has already stopped, play will resume earlier then on the roofed centre court. A match that finished earlier today was one of my favorites, Italian’s Francesca Schiavone beating Virginie Razzano of France with 6-2 7-6. Fran has never reached the top 10 but captured my tennis heart multiple times, both in New York and in Stanford. A feisty player with lots of on court- charisma and a fantastic single handed backhand. Her loopy forehand has given her all sorts of trouble on grass in recent years but this years she has a great grass season. Key today was Francesca’s great serve and netplay. Hope she can win another round but this already equals her previous best slam performances, a quarter final at Roland Garros as well as In New York.

Musicals

It’s summer time which means flocks of tourists are going to London’s West End and New York’s Broadway to view a musical during their vacation. I am a huge musical fan for 5 years now and have seen at least 20. I am gonna name my top 5 of musicals and hope to inspire people to go and watch those musicals soon.

1 Wicked, this musicals has it all; great decors, memorable songs and a great storyline with a meaning, a big 10/10. Playing in both London and New York

2 Le Cage aux Folles, my first musical and the one that made me fall in love with them. Sweet romantic songs, funny and great dancing by men dressed as woman. 9.5/10, only playing in London

3 Mamma Mia, seen this one 4 times all with different people and everyone loved it as much as me. Ultimate feel-good, Abba- songs that everyone knows and a fun yet simple story-line 9/10 ,both in London and New York

4 Fiddler on the roof, a musical that is the opposite from Mamma Mia. A very strong story line with a still relevant message. Very intense songs and impressive without much decor or fanfare. 8.5/10, in London.

5 The Phantom of the opera, the all-time longest playing musical in New York and playing in London as well right now. Great soundtrack, lots of suspense and around 3 hours of captivating entertainment, so definitely worth your money! 8/10

gay exorcism

On you tube under gay exorcism, you can find a shocking clip of a so called “gay exorcism” in Connecticut. In the clip a young man is being hit, yelled at and abused to get “the gay spirit” out. CNN interviewed the pastor Patricia McKinney from the Manifested Glory Ministries Church, who was part of the ritual. She tries to act like she doesn’t hate gays, but she clearly does. It’s an evil spirit like alcoholism or drug abuse that needs to be removed, says McKinney. A former crack-head herself, she says the therapy helped her and it also helped the young man in the video. This is a serious case of religion gone wrong. I don’t believe any God would approve of this and how can a former crack-head with a language issue be a pastor of a church??

Wimbledon day 6

It was a day of upsets with Jelena Jankovic losing to US qualifier Melanie Oudin 7-6 5-7 2-6 and svetlana Kuznetsova losing to Germany’s Sabine Lisicki 2-6 5-7, both were third round matches.

Jankovic is far from her best form, but I did not expect her to lose against Oudin. This young American girl clearly has talent but also lacks weapons. On grass though she has a nice game, with slices and good movement, playing like a mini Henin(without the power). This match should have went to Jankovic though, but she plays at 50% lately. Her serves are really slow as well as her movement and one can see she is burned out lately. She already told the media she was gonna take a break after Wimbledon and I think that is the right thing to do. Best win for an American junior talent in years though.

Svetlana Kuznetsova never seemed to be really here after her formidable win in Paris. Her game is also not very suited for grass because of her use of spin. Lisicki on the other hand with her flat ground strokes and powerful serve is becoming more and more a force to be reckoned with. The German girl from polish parents proves here that her win in Charleston was not a fluke and she should be in the top 20 very soon.

Rush Limbaugh talk like an idiot again

He basically says it’s Obama’s fault that Governor Sanford left to his mistress in Argentina last week. Because he lost the battle trying to fight the stimulus plan coming to South Carolina and he knows the country is going to hell in a hand basket Sanford just lost his spirit and could not care anymore. Yeah and why did he start the affair in the first place??(when Bush was still in power). This is a totally illogical reason, maybe Limbaugh could blame the Democrats for his erection problems as well!

Perez Hilton sues, apologizes and gets rejected

Even though he first said he would not apologize for using a gay slur, now while feeling a backlash against him from several gay organizations, he has said “sorry”for using the word “faggot” and promised to never use it again. it’s a little bit, too little too late, as he would say to other people doing the same thing, but now finally he (at least publicly) acts with regret.

He is still suing the manager of the Black Eyed Pea’s Polo Molina though, for $ 25.000. He wanted to spent the money on the Matthew Shephard foundation. This foundation was started in remembrance of the extremely violent  hate-crime killing of Matthew Shephard in Laramie, Wyoming in 1998. They do not want Hilton’s money because he used a gay slur. Good for them.

Wimbledon day 5

petrova

petrova

The match between Gisela Dulko and Nadia Petrova was branded by the british tabloids as “beauty against the beast”.How rude is that? While I understand that they wanna brand Dulko as the new” beauty” after winning against Sharapova, calling Nadia a beast is very uncalled for. Yes, she isn’t pretty and she is big, but it’s not that bad as you can see on the picture. The first set was all about Gisela’s great grass court game and Nadia’s errors, resulting in a quick 3-6 for Dulko. Then Petrova’s serve started working and this is a huge weapon on grass. She has all the tools to win a slam except a fragile mental state in tight matches and she almost seemed to let it slip again as well yesterday after winning the second set with 6-3. Dulko could again not close it out either and the best player won, Petrova with 6-4. She made 33 winners against 29 unforced errors, Dulko 17-23. Hope Nadia can cause a little upset in the next couple matches.

Gay Pride in Jerusalem

This years Pride Parade, last Thursday, in Jerusalem had 2000 participants and 1600 cops attending, compared to 12.000 cops in 2006. Except for one egg-throwing incident it was fairly peaceful this year. In past years there were stabbings and violence by ultra-Orthodox Jews and extremists. While I am glad this year everything went fine I don’t know if I support a gay pride in Jerusalem. I am all for prides as I wrote in earlier posts, and they have one in Israel already in the much more progressive Tel Aviv. I think holding it in a city that is so tied to religion is a little bit provocative and unnecessary. What good does this do for the gay cause??

2 pop culture icons die within 24 hours

First there was the expected yet tragic death of former Charlie’s Angel Farrah Fawcett. She died 62 years old of anal cancer, something she was diagnosed with 3 years ago. She fought like a lion and tried all kinds of medical treatment in the U.S. as well as in Germany to get better. Unfortunately she did not succeed. She will probably always be remembered for her fabulous hair and great mega-watt smile, a true icon of the 70’s.

And then Michael Jackson, pop icon of the 80’s, who died at 50 from a cardiac arrest. Just while he was preparing for his big comeback in the London Arena. I had my doubts that he would be able to make that, but certainly nobody expected this. While I was never a fan, he truly was a great entertainer but also a very troubled spirit. I feel saddened for his children, but hope they can lead a more normal life now. Lots of stars have already passed their condolences, Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Brooke Shields, Van Halen and more.

Wimbledon day 4

There were no real upsets yesterday at the women’s draw, but one of the more entertaining matches was the one between Australian’s Sam Stosur and Germany’s Tatjana Malek who defeated Aussie Jelena Dokic in the first round. While this certainly was not a high quality match, it most definitely made up for that in excitement with Stosur winning 4-6 7-6 6-4. Sam Stosur, the muscled multiple doubles slam winner came right from the best result of her career, a semi-final at Roland Garros. Her athleticism, great serve and excellent net play should make her a front runner at Wimbledon but so far this has never happened. Her forehand has a huge back swing and lots of topspin and that doesn’t translate well to the grass. Yesterday it was all about her though, and then mostly about the errors she made. Luckily for Stosur, Malek lacks real weapons and even with 4-0 in the tiebreak and 4-1 in the final set, she was still not able to win this match and Stosur has another chance of doing well at this year;’s Wimbledon. I guess it’s good for her to know she can win matches while playing awful.

Sally Kern spews hate again

She is the Oklahoma lawmaker that called gays a bigger threat to the US then terrorism and  that the homosexual agenda is destroying the nation. Bizarre enough the crazy woman got reelected again a few month ago and now she talks nonsense again.

Saying being gay is not in-born, because from which parent was it inherited. What??? There are so many things people are born with and that neither on of the parents have.

Telling that gay marriage in Norway has weakened their society because there are more out-of-wedlock babies born there?? Excuse me, Norway is one of the safest, happiest and richest countries in the world. And since when is an out-of-wedlock baby a bad thing for society??

And saying only 3% on the population is gay?? Times 3 you mean silly Sally!!

Why is this woman in such a high political position?? That says more about a society then gay marriage being allowed.

Wimbledon day 3

It was a battle of the “beauties” between Argentinian Gisela Dulko against 24th seed, former champion, Maria Sharapova. The first set went fairly easy to Gisela Dulko who played a great relaxed grass game. Great touch and fantastic drop shots that kept a poorly moving Sharapova on her toes. And with 3-0 for Dulko in the second set, it seemed to all be over quickly. But then Maria showed her fighting spirit and won the next 7 games in a row while Dulko seemed to falter under the pressure. Sharapova could not keep up that high level of play though and the third set went very evenly. Sharapova eventually made some critical errors at the net and showed she is technically not a natural and basically gave the match to Dulko. Dulko got tight again though on match points and only at match point number 5, she and the crowd with her had a chance to cheer. End result 6-2 3-6 6-4.

Botox against hair loss

A doctor from Beverly Hills tried Botox on the scalp of his mother who suffered from migraines after chemotherapy. Not only did it help for the migraine, it also made her hair grow back. He has tested it on volunteers for 3 years adding vitamins and was really impressed with the results. He thinks the Botox dilates the blood vessels which allows nutrients in the shrunk follicles. Very interesting, while I have never used Botox yet, I will certainly use it in my future and maybe on my scalp as well, when I start losing my hair. Haha

Tattoo girl admits to lying

18y old Kimberley Vlaminck from Belgium told the media she had only wanted 3 stars tattooed on her face, but fell asleep and woke up with 56!!! stars on one side of her face. She claimed the eastern European tattoo artist must have misunderstood her because of language problems and  and now she was all suicidal and upset. I knew this story was fishy all along because I have 2 tattoos and while they do not hurt extremely, you definitely don’t fall asleep during the procedure and even less so when it happens in your face!! This week she admitted to lying and that she wanted it all along, but after the bad reaction from her father acted like it was all a mistake.

Gossip

Sarah Jessica Parker’s twins were born, 2 girls, named Marion and Tabitha. I like the first name and hate the second. Did they name her after the woman from Bravo’s Tabitha’ salon make-over?? Hope she turns out a little better looking then her.

Ricky Martin now denies having said his heart could belong to a man or a woman. Please, girl, we all now the truth, it;s just to a man!! Who is he fooling??

Martina Navratilova is going through another messy break up and divorce. She forcibly removed longtime partner Tony Layton from their shared residence and denied Layton access to her belongings. Apparently it promises to be a messy divorce. I hope it will be all OK for Martina. I met her once and she seems like a great lady.

Hypocrite of the day: Gov. Mark Sanford

While I mentioned the Republican hypocrites of last week yesterday, today I saw on some news blogs that there is a new one! South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, someone people saw as a front-runner for the presidential elections on the Republican side. Probably not anymore. While being against gay marriage and gay adoption because: “every kid deserves a mother and father” he decided to spent this father’s day in Argentina with his mistress.

Hypocritical politicians

While this is almost redundant, 2 cases the last couple days really stand out to me.

Family values campaigner Brian Blair, former pro wrestler and now Florida politician is someone who is against “homo’s opposing their lifestyle up on our children”. Meanwhile this father’s day, he beat and choked his 17 and 14 year old sons who then called the cops and they arrested Blair. Yep, beating your kids is better then letting them see a gay couple get married.

And then Nevada GOP Senator Ensign, who has been a vocal opponent of gay marriage and famously attacked Clinton for his extramarital affairs, acknowledged he has had an extramarital affair with a former campaign staffer. Well apparently his marriage is so much better then any gay marriage could be and cheating on your wife is only bad when you don’t do it yourself.

3 years for stealing Lance Armstrong's bike!!

Lee Crider pleaded no contest for the stealing of Armstrong;’s bike and 2 other bicycles back in February and his looking at a solid 3 years behind bars at his sentencing next Monday in Sacramento. That is an awful long time for stealing a bike when Chris Brown only gets 5 years on probation for extreme abuse of his then girlfriend Rihanna. Something is not write with the law when things like this come out. Should be the other way around.

Wimbledon day 2

Match of the day

Caroline Wozniacki(9) beats Kimiko Date Krumm, 5-7 6-3 6-1

Match between a teen and a 39y old woman. And that is exactly why Wozniacki was able to win this. Date-Krumm , a former top 5 player that came out of retirement last year played superb grass court tennis till 7-5 3-1 in her advantage in the second set and then physically totally broke down. Until then her beautiful and varied game left Wozniacki clueless who just kept playing the ball back with little pace to the middle of the court. Wozniacki really has to get more weapons instead of being a plain old ball pusher if she really wants to achieve big things in her career. Hopefully we will see Date-Krumm back for at least one more Wimbledon next year and then in better shape, cause her game is still an extreme joy to watch.

Bigot of the day: PA State Senator John Eichelbecher

The Pennsylvania Senator says gays should be satisfied with being "allowed" to exist. He sponsors a bill to ban same-sex marriage in the state and said in a debate he doesn't encourage stability in gay relationships and that there is no reason to give them special consideration and calling the nature of gay relationships dysfunctional. He also says that if we allow gays to marry, then people might wanna marry younger and younger children???? Retarded comparison! How can such an idiot be a Senator???

Wimbledon day 1

The match of the day for me was between 15y old British hope Laura Robson and Daniela Hantuchova, a former top 5 player. While people expected Robson to be nervous at the start and having problems with her game as a result, this did not happen at all. She came out firing and clearly silenced all the doubters. Hantuchova seemed like the inexperienced one while displaying jittery and nervous behavior. But after being a set(6-3) and a break up in the second set, Robson started to make more errors and Hantuchova showed why she still us a top 50 player. Double faults from Robson’s side handed Hantuchova both the second and the third set and thus the match ( 6-3 4-6, 2-6). Robson is a huge talent though who will make some headlines at Wimbledon again in the next couple years. and Hantuchova has to improve her serve is she want to have a chance at reaching the second week here.

Ibuprofen increases risk of heart attack

It can increase your risk of life-threatening heart or circulation problems like a heart attack or stroke. The longer and more you use the higher the risk. People that had taken it in the last 3 months had a 24 % higher risk of heart attack then people who didn’t according to a large British study. People taking small-dose aspirin every day to avoid heart problems should avoid ibuprofen even more, the blood thinning advantage of aspirin is almost completely undone by the ibuprofen. I saw this all yesterday in the Internet after realizing my arrhythmia;s were worse after taking Advil. That is probably a coincidence but I am glad i now know the other side effects. Luckily Tylenol(Paracetamol) does not cause any of these things.

Perez Hilton in fight with Black Eyed Peas

Basically there are 2 sides to this story and combined the following probably occurred. In Toronto at some music awards gala, Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas came up to Perez and asked why he was so horrible to her on his blog all the time(calling her fugly etc) After they talked, Will. I. Am from the Black Eyes Peas came to talk to Perez and more or less said Perez should stop talking bad about them on his blog. After that Perez called Will a faggot and then someone(probably their manager) hit Perez in the face and the cops came and he twittered about it and both left messages on the Internet. While I can understand why someone is pissed at Perez, violence is never the answer, so hitting him was a bad thing to do. Perez using the slur “faggot” to someone else is a strange thing to say by a self-proclaimed gay activist. Can you imagine all the drama he would have made if someone called him a fag??

Wimbledon has started!!

DSCN2733The first matches are on their way and I am super excited. At the ladies' tournament there are many great first round matches. I 'll pick a few and type down my predictions.

15y old Brit Laura Robson(the winner of the girl's tournament last year) against former top 5 player Daniela Hantuchova. I expect a really tight match, and maybe the upset of the day in favor of Laura Robson.

Top 10 player Caroline Wozniacki against 38y old Kimiko Date-Krumm, who made the semi-finals here in the 90's and came back successfully after years of retirement last year. I hope for an upset here but Wozniacki just won a title on the grass of Eastbourne and is in great form.

Former top 10 players Ai Sugiyama and Patty Schnyder against each other. Sugiyama is definitely more at ease at the grass so i do give her the edge even though her form his not been great so far this year. A match between 2 veterans with a great aesthetic game.

Democratic fundraiser losing sponsors

The big LGBT fundraiser this week has already lost numerous important people as a reaction against the DOMA brief from Obama and the lack of support for gay rights in the Democratic Party lately. The largest grassroots network of LGBT activists in the nation, the Stonewall Democrats, GLAD attorney Mary Bonauto, former head of the Obama Leadership Council Stampp Corbin, and other prominent former donors have decided to cancel. I think it;s great, the Democratic Party needs to show it deserves the money of the LGBT Community  and it is not doing that right now. For instance in New York where many democratic senators are anti gay-marriage, like bigot Ruben Diaz Sr. Maybe this little bit of pressure from the gays will lead to good actions coming from the Democratic Party and President Obama.

Boat with a message

In the Netherlands there will be a canal parade during Gay Pride in august and there will be  boat this year with gay and gay-friendly athletes. It;s an initiative by silver medalist in swimming from the 2000 Olympics, openly gay Johan Kenkhuis . Also swimmer Pieter Van den Hoogenband(who beat Michael Phelps numerous times) , speed skater Jochem Uytdehaage and hockey-player Minke Booy, all straight and together good for 6 gold medals at Olympics in the last 10 years will be on this boat. I could not yet see this happening in the US yet with for example Michael Phelps or Tom Brady in the parade. But would that not be cool??!!!

Gay Pride

It;s gay pride month again in gay world. Rome, Shanghai, Athens and Los Angeles have had their pride already and definitely the one in LA sounded like fun. And I wish I was in New York this week, because it’s pride week there with the big parade on Sunday. I love a good pride like any good old gay, all the happy people, music, dancing. While I’m not proud to be gay(how can you be proud of something you were born as) I definitely don’t feel ashamed either and I think that it’s a good thing to hold pride every year to celebrate the achievements the gay community has made. There is also a lot of work that still needs to be done, and bigotry that needs to be changed. So as long as those things are still not the way they should, there is a need for a gay pride. And for the people like Will and Grace writer Max Mutchnick who thinks that “extremes” should not be representing him and the community are just plain boring and conformist. Nobody wants to see just lawyers and business man in a parade, that;s not entertaining. And the argument that it creates more homophobia isn’t relevant either i.m.o. People that hate on gays do that anyway, with or without extremes in a parade. We should not buckle down to them.

Gossip

According to the National Enquirer actor Morgan Freeman(72) has a 10-year old affair with his 27 year old step-granddaughter E’Dena. If this is for real, it;s pretty creepy and Woody Allen-like. Of course the Enquirer writes crap a lot but this seemed really like the truth.

Bruno was in Amsterdam at the red-light district where he opened a division with male prostitutes(all as a joke). He sure pulls out all the stops for his European promotion.

Poor Britney keeps true to her “smart” self by yelling “Hello London,”,while being somewhere else.

And actor Dennis Quaid gets more money from the hospital in LA that accidentally gave his twins an almost fatal dose of blood thinners. Each kid gets $ 250.000 and free care. If I was him I would never sat foot in that hospital again so they could keep the free care.

Clay court cows and Grass court goats

A clay court cow is tennis player who is like a cow on ice on the clay courts. Plays perfectly fine on other courts but never achieves much on the clay. An example of that is Maria Sharapova. Then there are women who just hardly win a round or 2 every now and then on hard/clay-courts but all of a sudden shine in the grass court month. One of them is Thai Tamarine Tanasugarn. This week she won the title in Rosmalen for the second time in a row after beating world number 1 Dinara Safina  7-5 7-5. This match on any other surface would have been an easy win for Safina, because of Tanasugarn’s poor fitness and lack of power. But her backhand that hardly bounces on the grass and great touch she is a threat to all players on the grass. Hope she can repeat last years quarter finals at Wimbledon. Players like her are the reasons the grass season is so much fun.

Gossip

I feel bad for Sarah Jessica Parker. Apparently police chefs were in on a plot from burglars who were hunting for voice mail messages in the house of the surrogate mother of her soon the be twins. Can't trust the cops that did it, so maybe not the ones doing the investigation either. That is just a shitty thing to do.

I hope he can pull it off for his fans, but I have strong doubt Michael Jackson will finish(or even start) all of his 50 upcoming concerts in London's O2 arena. He just seems too unhealthy and fragile.

Ricky Martin came half "out of the closet" by saying his heart could belong to a man or a woman. Was there anybody out there that still thought he was straight????

All the drama with the Real Housewives of New Jersey!!! The finale ending with one woman calling the other a whore and throwing over a dinner table in a restaurant. Wow, too bad I could only see that little clip. Would have loved the whole series. But in the Netherlands it;s not obviously not right now on TV and people can;t watch clips from Bravo out of another country. Sucks!! I loved the whole housewives franchise, especially OC with Gretchen/Tamra fights, New York with Bethenny and Kelly, and Ramona and Jill and and... They had a lot of fights with one another. And of course Atlanta, with Nene and Kim. Wow, just typing about it makes me miss Bravo!! Luckily my sister-in-law fills me in sometime on all the drama.

PETA being ridiculous

I understand that animal organisation are mad about the 2000 Canada geese that are gonna be killed in the areas of LaGuardia and JFK airport. 200 have been killed already and according to some nature scientist there could be other ways to get rid of them. Personally I do feel bad for the geese but I think it;s the right thing to do. One human life in my opinion is more important the 200 Geese and the risks of another plane crash are just too high.

What I absolutely do not understand is PETA being upset with Obama for killing a fly  on life TV. It should not get any weirder than that. PETA people, get a life!!, and pick your battles.

Anti LGBT hate crimes highest in 10 years

In the US, 29 deaths were the result of a hate crime in the last year, an increase of 28 percent. Senators and congressman against the upcoming "hate crimes law" should look into this more. 29 is an awful number.

In the Netherlands we have some hate crimes(almost all done by Moroccan boys) but luckily no killings. In any event all violence against someone just because of the way he/she was born is just unacceptable.

Bruno

Glaad(gay organisation) called Bruno recently in a statement “offensive and problematic” and saying some people in the gay community will not like it. They are also afraid it is too much of a stereotype and is like a white person putting on a “black face”.

I think this is just ridiculous. First of, there are always people that will not like something, so that is not an argument. I have seen parts and it;s clearly a satire and in my opinion super funny. People that don’t see that and think all gays are like that are not very smart and would have probably thought that anyway. I doubt there are many people that will see the movie and don’t understand it’s the bigots that are being made fun off and not gays in general.

Kirstie Alley is so much more fun for the gossip magazines( and readers) when she is fat. She was in them every week when she was over 200 pounds but when she was a normal weight, she was barely seen there. Now she is huge again and back in the spotlight. Maybe she does it on purpose, being normal just doesn't generate enough publicity.

Marc Jacobs is getting married (or it already happened) in Provincetown. When I read this I instantly wanted to go back there. For those of you who haven;t been there, go!! It;s the ultimate destination for gays; nice weather, pretty nature, great food and entertainment and awesome little art shops. Can't wait to go back there!!

David Letterman loses sponsors over joke about Sarah Palin's daughter. Sarah Palin gets all upset and basically calls Letterman an old perv for making a joke like that. She should have giving her daughter better sex education herself and no jokes would have been made. Abstinence isn't working for her own daughter so why for others??

Obama's plan for gay rights

Look at what his plans are for the 8 campaign promises he made, on www.obamasplanforgayrights.com

Not a shock!!!

And Obama’s plan to extend federal benefits for gay employees is not one of his promises and too little to be happy about. Not enough people benefiting from that. He is too busy with his plans to tax the cattle of farmers in the mid-west even more.

Serbian tennis stars in turmoil

Petrova
Petrova

Last year around this time, both Jelena Jankovic and Ana Ivanovic were on a high after reaching the finals at Roland Garros. They were both in the form of their lives and inching in on the number 1 position in the world( they both reached later on)

This year is so much different though. After early exits at Roland Garros, the both lost in the first round at the grass tournament in Eastbourne this week. Jankovic against slumping Chakvetadze with 7-6 3-6 2-6. Her problem has been gaining too much muscle in the after season and thus losing lots of speed and movement.

Ivanovic lost to Petrova 1-6 6-4 4-6 after a 4-1 lead in the third against mega-choker Petrova. Her problems seems to be just mental. She seems to have a very low confidence and fold to her opponents in tight situations.

I like both girls and hope they will be back to playing at their potential soon, it might be a while though.

new immigration law faces hard opposition

The new law that would make it possible for American citizens to sponsor their spouse, so he/she could live in the United States has already faced a lot of opposition from anti-immigration activists, who think it could lead to fraud and also from the Catholic church(normally pro immigration) because marriage is between a man/woman. Both arguments are unfair in my opinion. First this is not even about marriage but about partners, so the argument of the catholic church does not make sense and why would there be more fraud?? Immigration people are smart enough to figure out what real partners are, just like they figure it out with straight couples as well. And if they don't then it’s still no different then the situation right now. It's just another reason for people to deny others equal rights and love.

Madonna able to adopt Mercy

After first being denied the adoption, the Malawian Court this time told her she was allowed to adopt her second child from the African country. She already adopted a son, David, in 2006. The first time they rejected her because she did not spent enough time in the country, but they decided now that law was outdated.

A lot of people critique her for “buying” kids. I think it's ridiculous, the kids must be off 10 times better at Madonna then at an African orphanage. And the parents from the kids now wanting them back, makes me think why the hell they let them go in the first place. Does anyone believe little Mercy would have been happy in Africa in 30 years, maybe even starving, knowing she could have been adopted by Madonna. I don't think so.

Grass court season

We are now right in the middle of my favorite part of the tennis season, on the grass courts. It's way to short in my opinion basically only 4 weeks, but always full of upsets, surprises and great matches. The grass court matches are shorter and thus a little more enjoyable to watch then slow baseline 5-set matches at Roland Garros.

This week a lot of players are in my country, the Netherlands, for the tournament in Rosmalen. As an exhibition match this Sunday Kim Clijsters(after Steffi Graf my all-time favorite) proved she is ready for her official comeback after defeating dutch Misa Krajicek in 2 easy sets 6-1 6-3. Kim played amazing and on her favorite hard courts this summer, she should be able to be a contender for titles again. Yes Misa is not at her best after injuries and the break-up with her dad but she is still a great player on grass, former quarter finalist at Wimbledon and yesterday

Misa Krajicek
Misa Krajicek

she  beat top 50 player Errani in the first round in 2 easy sets. Can't wait to see Kim again at the US Open this year

Adoption out of the US still option for dutch gay couples and singles

Gay couples can only adopt kids from the US and that through only one way. By making contact with organisations in the US they can start their procedure, after that authorities judge the applications. The woman wanting to give up their children could themselves choose who their babies would go to after seeing a photo album/book made by the future parents. Which in my opinion is a better way then for the women to have no say in it whatsoever.

The problem was that this method is only for countries that had not signed the Hague Adoption Agreement. The Us did this recently and would transfer to the system of full-time interference, meaning the procedure is from the start in the hands of the authorities and through those construction gays can;t adopt. Our minister made a small change that was still juridical valid and fair and kept the option open for loving gays and singles to still adopt from the US.

Obama, why????

Obama fails gay community again and again and again

15062009

This time by defending DOMA(defense of marriage act) He did not have to do this, other presidents have refused to defend laws they believe were unjust or unconstitutional.

In his letter he says basically that it is too expensive for the state and by denying it he preserves the already scarce government resources. Further he says the state also refuses to recognize the marriage between uncles and nieces and adults and children, linking gays to incest and pedophilia. I doubt he really means this way, but he keeps failing the gay community. So far his presidency has sucked on so many levels already!!

Chastity Bono becomes Chaz

I say good for him. If a person feels like he/she is in the wrong body they should be able to change themselves. I can't say it's a huge shock, she looked and acted pretty masculine for years. I think it's totally brave and hope he will be happy. That last thing is something I think a lot of trans gender people struggle with unfortunately. They are not happy before the change but often not really happy afterwards either because of the way society treats them or physical problems they get after transitioning. I bet Cher is OK with it, I think having a gay son would have been much easier for her to identify with then a lesbian daughter, cause Cher practically is a gay man. This she probably can relate to more then a lesbian, I think. Hope everyone will be happy in the end.

heart arrythmia;s

Just after having posted about them a couple weeks ago and not having had them for months suddenly since last Wednesday they have come back. And very bad. Not just a few times a day but 40 times or something my heart skips a beat. Very scary and it ruins my life right now. Sometimes they are gone for a few hours and then they come back 3 times in 5 minutes or something. I hate it!!! My doctor said they are not really dangerous, gave me beta-blockers if it would be too bad, but I don;t know if I should take them since i have a slow heart rate and they are for people with a fast one and with high blood pressure. I hope they clear up from itself so I don;t have to take heart medication. And maybe see a cardiologist next week. I am just so scared for my life that i don;t feel like posting that much.

Gossip

This week Paris Hilton broke up with her boyfriend of a couple months(wow, couple months!!) and partied the night away with soccer player Ronaldo. Carrie Prejean is acting all sad and surprised after being dethroned as Miss California, even though for everyone to read were her emails to her former bosses that showed her as a diva-bitch that had it all coming. Adam Lambert came out of the closet(huge surprise) and Milk and Big Love screenwriter Dustin Lance Black had very personal pictures from himself posted on the Internet(by a jealous former lover), nude and having sex. Not a biggie to me, but maybe to others!?

Carrie Prejean no longer miss California

Finally, she should have been fired weeks ago. It;s fine she has her bigoted opinion on gay marriage but the way she willingly became an anti gay marriage crusader is just not fitting to a pageant winner. She was only busy helping NOM and acting like a poster girl for all the horny Republican "news"broadcasters like Sean Hannity and did no good causes she should have done as Miss California. Apparently she acted like a real diva too and only wanted to do things she liked instead of being an employee of the pageant. And she is(was) just that. Hopefully she will be out of the news soon now, but I doubt that.

Christian schools are allowed to "not hire" gay teachers in the Netherlands????

Where is this going in my lovely open-minded country?? Loyalty should not only be in the school itself but also outside(meaning not having a gay partner). What bad is it for kids to have a gay teacher??( According to the council of State's secret memo it does)Does not make them gay!! We have a problem with too much Christianity in our government with out of three, one christian party and one extreme christian party. I knew it would give problems like this and it does. The current anti-discrimination law in the Netherlands forbids the single fact of someone being gay be a factor in the hiring or firing process. Hope is stays that way. Curious what would happen if they would keep women out or people from a different race.

Pregnant man has another baby

After having a girl, Susan, a while ago Thomas Beatie(born as a woman but living as a man) now has a boy. I don;t know about this one. I am really open-minded but this is just a little too much. I totally understand people being born in the wrong body and thus being trans gender but then after transitioning to a man still having a baby is just a little much. But I guess if they are happy and the babies are, who am I too judge.

Advocate's top 15 gay blogs

From the top 15 i read and love 4.

Dlisted.com, lovely nasty gossip.

Ohlalamag.com, hot guys and cute stories by 2 European guys.

Towleroad.com, the ultimate gay blog.

Perezhilton.com, does not even need any explanation.

Pat Robinson is an idiot!!

The religious activist thinks only few men are born gay and most have been made "homosexuals" by counselors, coaches and other people that abuse  young men who then become to think something is wrong with their sexuality. So instead of handling the homosexuality of your kid you have to scare him by saying he goes to hell, according to the bigot. With those ignorant comments he surely has some gay teen suicide on his name. Gays are born that way end of discussion. I have a non identical twin brother, we were raised the same way, neither one of us was abused and he is as straight as they came and I am very gay. The end!!

Us Supreme court agrees to upholding Don;t ask, Don;t tell

HPIM3057While I personally don;t understand why anybody would wanna go to war and be part of the army, I do think(of course) that everyone that wants to, should be able too. That makes it ridiculous that openly gay man/women can;t  serve in the military. It;s just a sad and old-fashioned idea that they would be bad for moral. Definitely now in times of war it;s bizarre that wonderfully qualified people get fired just for being themselves. That;'s why I am surprised that the US supreme court rejected the case brought on by 12 former service members. 86% of liberals and even 56% of conservatives are in favor of gays in the military.

Obama said during the election that he would end the the ban on gay in the military and he would fully repeal it. Now he doesn;t do anything about it, still let;'s people get fired and his administration argued at this supreme court against the gay soldier's care. Where is the fierce advocate for gay rights??? Only words so far!!!

Breathing

I have an issue with my breathing, often hyperventilating and thus breathing in too much air. I have been following courses to help me with that and even though they work I could never ever in my life imagine doing what Frenchman Stephane Mifsud did. He stayed under water and held his breath for 11 minutes and 35 seconds. With that he broke the old record with more then a minute. Scary and impressive

Foie gras or not??

Certain dutch hotel-restaurant chains have removed foie gras from their menu after a campaign from the dutch animal right organisation Awake Animal. I know to make the foie gras people have to push food down the throat of animals to make their liver fat. In the Netherlands production is forbidden but to eat it obviously not(yet). I have a hard time with this, on one hand I love foie gras but I feel bad for the animals as well. What i don;t know is how bad the geese and ducks are being treated, is it really bad abuse?? Makes me think a bit more before ordering it next time

love-sick in the hospital

In the Amsterdam  VU hospital this  weekend was a onetime polyclinic for people that were either extremely in love or were love-sick. It was a serious project with tons of doctors who really read into the whole phenomenon. Everybody knows the common side effects of being in love like butterflies, shaky hands. Or feeling depressed when love sick. This weekend people were tested on other physical changes. First people's blood pressure, heart rate and transpiration were measured while their eyes were closed. After seeing a picture of their loved ones, everything went up very fast. There was also a big increase in the pupil size of people's eyes. Unfortunately there is not a cure yet for either love sickness!

Sweet!!

90 year old American Eleanor Benz got her high school diploma this week! During the great depression in the 30's Eleanor was in her final year of school when per parents had to pull her out to help them. One of her daughters asked her what her biggest disappointment from the era, she said it was not getting her diploma. Her children contacted the school and they gave her a diploma and yearbook!! It;s unclear if she will go to university now with her high school diploma in her pocket, haha!!

Roland Garros final

Svetlana Kuznetsova beats Dinara Safina 6-4 6-2

I am very pleased with this winner, so well done Kuznetsova. Safina proved again that even though she is a fighter, handling the stress of a final gets the best of her. 7 double faults and one of them on match point prove that. Both ladies proved they have very solid backhands but their forehands were very prone to errors. At 5-3 in the first set Safina broke Kuznetsova at love, but lost her service and the set in the following game. Until 2-2 in the second set, both ladies kept serve but after Safina lost her serve then, the match was quickly over.

Roland Garros is over, but luckily my favorite part of the season, on the grass courts is already starting this week!!

God???

I was raised as a catholic boy, went to a catholic school and was even an altar boy. While I am glad i was raised that way, right now i don;t consider myself religious anymore. I do hope that there is a God and when I feel scared or bad i do pray every now and then but that doesn;t make me a real true believer, i guess.

On days like yesterday when i read a news/personal story on the blog of Jesse Archer, fabulous gay writer, actor and more I wonder why if there is a God, why would he let a thing like the following happen.

Australian Chris O'Brien was a cancer expert and one of the world's top brain cancer surgeons. 2.5 years ago he developed a very lethal type of brain cancer himself and this past week he died. Why do such terrible and very unfair things happen with a good and caring God. This is of course an example and most people can come up with a story similar to this one. When i ask religious people about that they say God can;t do everything and some things just happen, but that is too me not a sufficient answer. Maybe someone else can give me a better answer to this burning question

Bruno bingo attack all lies!!??

According to Universal pictures the allegations made by Richelle Olsen are all fabricated and they have the tapes to prove it. They claim she was never touched or assaulted by Bruno or crew members. I believe them, the story sounded fishy to begin with. Why file a lawsuit 2 years after the alleged injuries and attack. Because of money-whoring and publicity seeking, I think!!!

Attack on airbus 330 feared

Both officials at Air France and Brazilian air forces are strongly thinking of a possible explosion and attack on the airplane that was lost last Monday. Because pieces of the plane have been found as much as 300 kilometers from each other it seems the airplane exploded at cruising altitude. Also large amounts of kerosene have been found, larger then the amount that was on the plane.

While this could be true, I am then surprised no organization has been claiming the attack

Bigoted radio show loses sponsors

Hosts from the Sacramento radio station KRXQ suggested beating up kids that came out to their parents and the rest of the world as trans gender. According to Arnie States and Rob Williams a trans gender kid that would show high heels to their parents should be hit with the shoe and also be sent into therapy for a mental disorder.

These idiots don;t seem to know kids are born that way. Hope someone beats them up instead!!

Snapple, Sonic and Chipotle have pulled their advertising.

Nevada has domestic partnerships anyway

After governor Gibson vetoes the bill, both the Senate as the state Assembly overrode his decision. It;s not the same as gay marriage but a big step in the good direction and for now as good as it good get there. A big thanks deserve the Las Vegas gaming industry for their lobbying in favor of this bill. According to them the state could not risk losing more money through bigoted beliefs. I hope people will thanks them with a visit to Vegas!!

PVV big winner European elections

Yesterday the Netherlands went out to vote for the 25 available dutch seats in the European parliament. Geert Wilders's PVV was the big winner with 4 seats on their first attempt. For most dutch people the reason the vote for his party is him wanting to avoid a bigger Europe and keep true to the dutch morals/standards, for example pro-gay. Only 40% of the dutch voted partly in anger for the way the Netherlands is treated in Europe. We, for instance, have to pay per person 200 euro to Europe and a country like Luxembourg gains 200 a person. We pay three times the amount of money as Bulgaria but they have triple as many seats in the parliament. Doesn;t seem fair to me.

Roland Garros, ladies semi finals

DSCN2699Safina(1) beats Cibulkova(20) 6-3 6-3

This match was a lot closer then the score-line implies. Safina played mediocre and moved sluggish out there. Today the news came in that she has a flu which explains a lot. Cibulkova showed her promise occasionally but tried at times to out hit Safina on the baseline which is a no-no on clay. The problem with Cibulkova though is that she doesn;t have a B-game. All those unforced errors at break point showed that. Safina has to play less erratic in the final to win the title.

Kuznetsova(7) beats Stosur 6-4 6-7 6-3

This seemed to be an easy match for Svetlana until 4-2 in the second set. Then Stosur started attacking more and Kuznetsova had problems with her ankles and was moving bad. Fortunately for Kuznetsova, Stosur started to make some mistakes on key points like 2-2 in the third. Svetlana was, as against Serena Williams, able to raise her game again and closed out the third set fairly comfortable in the end.

Bruno being sued by bingo player

Both Sasha Baron Cohen as NBC universal are being sued by Richelle Olsen. She says Bruno hit her and thanks to him she is now in a wheel chair. After she was displeased with his vulgar talk during a bingo game she tried to get his microphone and during a scuffle, she fell on the floor and was attacked by other crew-members. She passed out and according to her suffered 2 brain injuries.

If this is all true it is really sad for the woman, but I doubt this is the whole story. Also ,why did she not sue earlier since this apparently happened in 2007.

Love won,New Hampshire sixth state to legalize gay marriage

The third time is a charm for New Hampshire. Yesterday the House of Representatives endorsed gay marriage with a 198 -176 vote after the state Senate approved the legislation 14-10. Then senator John Lynch signed the legislation into law.

It bill legalizing same-sex marriage was first approved in late April by both chambers, but the Senator wanted room for protection for religious organizations. After those were inserted the new bill was not approved by the Senate. That language has been slightly changed now and everyone seemed to agree this time. The law will effect on January first, hurrah!!

Roland Garros day 11, second quarter final day

Sam Stosur beats Sorana Cirstea 6-1 6-3

I was surprised organizers put this match on the big centre court and not the Kuznetsova – Williams one. Stosur( a multiple doubles slam winner) is a very talented and athletic girl with great variety and a great net-game as well. I would have expected her at a slam semi finals, but definitely not here at Roland Garros. Yesterday she was a class above Cirstea though, who did not nearly play as well as in her match against Jankovic.

Svetlana Kuznetsova(7) beats Serena Williams(2) 7-6 5-7 7-5

Finally Svetlana kept her nerves under control and beat a choking Serena Williams. The first set was of a high level and after Kuznetsova won the set with her thundering forehand and lead 5-3 in the third i hoped( and thought) the match would be over soon and the best clay-courter would win. Then Serena started to play a lot better and Svetlana started to make error after error. When Serena won that set and was leading 3-2 40-0 in the third, the match seemed like a replica of their Australian Open match this year where Svetlana choked the match awa

y. Suddenly though Serena started to move bad(maybe her fitness was questionable at this stage) and basically handed Svetlana the match. Kuznetsova again missed a big chance at 5-4 40-15 and missed 2 match points(or Serena won them) In the end though she kept cool and still has a chance to win her first Roland Garros. Not a very high quality match but certainly highly entertaining.

Marriage equality in NY??

view from central park NYC

view from central park NYC

Before this state senate session ends in 3 weeks, New York has to pass the equality bill and according to gay Senator Duane the votes are there, at least 32(with some republicans). According to Senate majority leader Malcolm Smith and some gay advocate groups that is not the case and equality is just gaining some momentum. Others suspect Smith of having a deal with anti gay state senator Diaz who supported him for majority leader in exchange for not having the vote for marriage equality this session.

A survey under the state senators showed nothing is certain yet. 20 yes, 27 no(with 5 democrats), and 15 unclear.

I hope it;s gonna work out!!! New York should have gay marriage if Iowa has!!!

Cause disaster Airbus A330 still a mystery

Hope for a miraculous saving of the 228 passengers is as good as evaporated. The Brazilian air force found pieces of the airplane yesterday morning. Experts are surprised how a plane that is modern and from a “safe” airline could have disappeared without any emergency call. According those experts it must have been a rare occurrence of circumstances. Before the black box is found no one can know the exact reason and that can take months. The only certainty is that all the electric systems of the airbus were broken. In the meantime Paris and Rio are in mourning.

I think I am not the only one that is scared by stories as these. I fly a lot and until recently I have hardly been scared in a plane but the last half year have not helped my fears. The plane in the Hudson, a little while after that another plane crashing in the U.S. and now this. This one is for me the scariest of all because I always thought those big planes were safe for things like thunder etc. Hope they find a different reason for this tragedy ,one that makes flying feel safer again for me and many others.

Roland Garros day 10, first quarter final day

Dinara Safina(1) beats Vika Azrenka(9) 1-6 6-4 6-2

The world number one Safina had been cruising through her first 4 rounds, but yesterday she got seriously tested. Azarenka came out firing and played an incredible first set with only 1 unforced error and probably the best set played by a woman this whole year. The second set Azarenka started making more errors and after losing her serve while making 2 double faults the momentum was with Safina. And mentally strong this young woman really has become. She smelled her chance and started playing really well, she quickly lead 4-1 then Azarenka came back to 4all but after that it was all Safina, who also played a great third set and showed she is the real favorite here for the title.

Dominika Cibulkova(20) beats Maria Sharapova 6-0 6-2

Sharapova played one of the worst matches of her career and was clearly tired after playing such epic matches in the rounds leading up to this quarterfinal. Cibulkova played solid but did not need to do much more then bring the ball back waiting for the unforced error. At 5-0 in the second set Cibulkova had 2 match points and then Sharapova showed some fire and played finally good tennis. It was obviously too late. For her though a good grand slam back after the long injury. Cibulkova makes her first semi-final of a slam

Heart Attacks, Panic Attacks

Every now and then when i feel a pinch or some chest pressure I worry for a while that I might get a heart attack. To make that fear a little less I decided to do some real research on the subject to see who are the risk factors and what to do when having a heart attack.

Symptoms:

The classic symptoms of a heart attack include intense, sometimes squeezing, chest pressure or pain, often radiating to the jaw or left arm, and frequently accompanied by profuse sweating.

Unfortunately, many patients with heart attacks do not have this classic presentation. Their discomfort may be relatively mild, and may be localized to the back, abdomen, shoulders, or either or both arms. Nausea and vomiting, or merely a feeling of heartburn, may be the only symptom. These less classic symptoms may not make patients think of a heart problem, and may keep them from seeking medical help. Indeed, up to 30% of heart attacks are diagnosed by taking a routine ECG long after the fact.

This is why people with one or more risk factors for coronary artery disease need to pay close attention to any unusual symptoms involving the upper half of the body. This warning would apply, for instance, for any middle-aged or older person who is obese, sedentary, a smoker, a diabetic, overweight, has high cholesterol, or has a family history of heart disease. Luckily i am not in any one of the risk categories so that makes me feel a bit more secure. And I have had ECG's a few times and all seemed normal there. Those were taken when I had  high heart rate that was caused by nerves, so a sinus tachycardia. I do not that there are more people that have panic attacks and are afraid it;s a heart attack because of the palpititions. I looked up what the differences were in feeling,

In a real heart attack, sufferers will experience a crushing sensation inside the chest and this pain is continuous for 5 to 10 minutes, with a panic attack it usually comes and goes.In fact, you DO NOT hear your heart beating during a heart attack, nor do you care - the crushing pain is the only thing you can feel. For panic attacks, you can actually feel the rapid heartbeat, in addition to other worrying symptoms. People having a heart attack usually don;t hyperventilate and their tingling is more confined to the left arm and jaw and not the whole body You are never in any real danger during a panic attack, you are just panicking. The thing about heart attack is that you CANNOT have one without an existing heart condition or disease - it is a fact. Panic attacks CANNOT and WILL NOT cause a heart disease or heart attack. That is good to know!!

When you do have a heart attack though what is the best way to handle

Every minute is important so call 911(or 112 in the Netherlands) for an ambulance, but if someone driving you is quicker then do that. Take one adult-sized aspirin right away cause that thins the blood against clots( I keep 2 in my wallet all the time).Stop what you;'re doing right away and sit down or lay down. The first priorities of the medical personnel are a) to make sure your vital signs (pulse and blood pressure) are stable, b) to prepare to deal with life-threatening conditions that may appear (such as ventricular fibrillation), and c) to decide whether or not you’re actually having a heart attack.

The first 24 hours after a heart attack is critical. Early intervention, using aggressive measures to open the occluded coronary artery, can radically improve the patient’s prognosis. The main limitations to successfully opening an occluded artery are a) the patient’s delay in getting medical care, and b) medical facilities that are poorly organized to deal rapidly and efficiently with patients who are having heart attacks. While “b” was a major problem 5 or 10 years ago, most hospitals and emergency rooms have now adopted procedures that allow them to rapidly assess and treat heart attack patients.

By far, the most important delay in delivering effective therapy for acute heart attacks today is the delay caused by patients failing to seek medical help in a timely fashion.

While my fear might still come up every now and then, thing are more clear for me now what to do and how to recognize. Hope it helps others as well
