Svetlana Kuznetsova(7) beats Agnieszka Radwanska(12) 6-4 1-6 6-1
“Kuzzie” is one of my favorite players(and also very much loved by other players thanks so her lovely personality) because her game is just awesome to watch when she is on. She can generate so much power with her forehand and also is a very accomplished doubles player with a good touch. If only mentally she would be a little stronger, she would have won more then just that one slam(US open). Svetlana is very good on clay, a surface that suits her otherwise mediocre footwork. In the first 2 sets most mistakes came from Svetlana and it seemed like she had trouble adjusting to the lack of power that Radwanska generates with her shots. The polish girl is talented but too much of a ball-pusher and not aggressive enough.
The second set was a total brain fart on Svetlana’s part and it was good she took a bathroom break to regroup herself after that set. She manages too and Radwanska seemed off . She made as many unforced errors in the first game of the third set the whole second set. Kuznetsova played brilliant and she needs that kind of game to upset Serena Williams in their quarterfinal tomorrow.
