Claudia Pechstein from Germany who on in 5 consecutive Olympics medals, all together winning 5 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze, she also won multiple world and European championships. During this years world championships in Norway she was tested positive for blood doping. She was one of the biggest Nemesis of dutch female speed-skaters who me and the rest of the Netherlands were always rooting for. Speed-skating is in the Netherlands what American Football is in the US. One of the most watched and most popular sports for the whole family. How many times I have cursed her out for winning instead of my favorites, but I also always had the utmost respect for her and her great career. All that is gone now with the positive test. Since she is from the former Eastern Germany(a doping heaven) I assume she already used it for years and years. Hopefully all her medals will be taken away from her and given to the righteous winners. A blow for a so far mostly clean sport.
